The West - The news from this quarter continues favorable, and indicates considerable activity both on the part of our own and the enemies' forces. On Saturday, Gen. Prentiss (Wikipedia), with four hundred fifty men, dispersed nine hundred rebels, under Colonel Dorsey, at Mount Sion [sic], Boone county, Ky., killing and wounding one hundred and fifty, and capturing thirty-five prisoners, ninety-five horses, and one hundred and five guns. Our loss was three killed and eleven wounded.
