Geo. W. Kottmyer
Geo. W. Kottmyer, Constance, Kentucky
George W. Kottmyer was born on May 8, 1887 at Constance, the son of Henry and Martha Dolwick Kottmyer. George grew up in Constance and attended the Ludlow public school. After his school days he learned the machinist trade, at which he worked until the past eight years, when he purchased a general store in Constance which he now operates.
He was married on September 30, 1913 to Virgie Riggs, born on March 17, 1888, the daughter of J. Wood and Carrie Weir Riggs of Pt. Pleasant neighborhood. Her father was a native of Boone county, his family coming here from Virginia, and her mother coming here from Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. George Kottmyer have one son, James Woodford, aged twelve.
Mr. Kottmyer carries a general line of merchandise at his store, including feed, hardware, notions, groceries, etc. Mr. Kottmyer is a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is greatly interested in his community and is ever ready and willing to contribute and cooperate toward its upbuilding.
