Ollie Cotton Goes to Florence

Ollie Cotton (colored) of the Verona neighborhood came to church at Florence June 26th and yielding to the seductive influence of the law violators was induced to fracture a town ordinance by riding faster than was deemed proper. He was hauled before the local court and find five dollars and costs. Now if the Marshal will consistently follow this arrest with a few more without regard to the color of the skin of the violators, we will say well done. We believe more in Gospel than law, but we approve of law enforcement when moral suasion fails and there is surely some apparent failure about Florence.
