Jacob Wychoff Piatt
It is stated that the will of the late Jacob Wychoff Piatt has been set aside by the Probate Court of Boone county, Kentucky, for alleged Jesuitical influences in its construction. The estate amounted to some $250,000, and by the will, two of the heirs, a son and a daughter, J. H. Piatt and Mrs. C. Jenkins, were disinherited. They brought suit to contest the validity of the will, which was decided in their favor on Friday, May 20th, at Burlington. A strong array of legal talent was engaged on both sides. The verdict will give to the contestants about two-thirds of the estate.
