An Open Letter to Amazon Corporation:
Dear Amazon;
Your corporation has purchased J's Acres to expand your business...And, I know you paid a more than fair price. And, my family's ancestors founded Boone County, Kentucky; the Tanner's, Rouses, Zimmermans, Aylors, Carpenters etc. Those ancestors came from Germany to find freedom and a better life at great personal expense of their lives and resources around 1800 when Cincinnati consisted of a few log cabins.

Would you ponder the following facts and history of the county please. J's Acres property, the house in particular, was once a way-station on the Trail West during the wonderful era in our history. There are still ruts in front of the house from the travel of the wagons which stopped there and traveled on to unknown adventures.

The water and wells there were sweet and cool with a countryside virgin and untouched as today it is not.

Many of my cousins and thousands of descendants still live in the area and have extremely precious memories of J's Acres and growing up there. The fishing was amazing, the hunting for small game was abundant, the blackberries grew wild, juicy and tall.

Now another cemetery is in danger, those remains of the Aylor cousins and kindreds.

I respect your issues and I am a member and use your services with much satisfaction.

Perhaps, you would consider respecting the family by preserving the house, perhaps even moving the cemetery near the house to the memory of our ancestors whom founded Boone County, Kentucky. Perhaps a park-like area that could be used by today's travelers and your employees.

Hopeful Lutheran Church in Florence was also founded by our ancestors and is a vital part of the community to this day.

Respectfully,
Gin-Nie Tanner Smith
