Alexander Campbell Thomas Campbell (February 1, 1763 – January 4, 1854), along with his son Alexander, and a man named Barton Stone, are pretty much the founders of what you know today as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Campbell's father, Thomas had a seminary in Burlington as early as 1808. Until they told him he couldn't preach to African-Americans.
