Ammer Brothers
This firm was established in 1879 by John Ammer, who conducted the business until his death in 1894, when his sons succeeded him. They carry a fine line of boots and shoes at lower prices than can be found in Cincinnati.
Their house is exclusively a boot and shoe establishment, manufacturing much of their own goods. Repairing neatly made.
J. L. Ammer, whose picture accompanies this article was born in Augusta in 1862 and at the age of fifteen he entered his father's store as an assistant, learning the business completely. Mr. Ammer is a member of the I.O.O.F., the K. of P., and the Red Men.
Mr. C. H, Ammer, the junior member of the firm was born in Augusta in 1866. He too entered the business at the age of fifteen, and has become an expert in the shoemaking trade.
