This reliable firm was established many years ago under the successful management of James B. Ryan.  Mr. Dunbar entered the firm in 1876 in partnership with C. R. McCormick.  In 1880 Mr. Dunbar purchased the interest of his partner, and has since been conducting the business, carrying a large and complete line of dry goods, clothing, notions, cloaks and wraps, carpets, oil cloths, and curtains.  An elegant line of fall and winter goods has just been received, including handsome dress goods for the season.

The firm does strictly a cash business, and its reputation for handling first-class goods in every department has secured for it a liberal patronage from the best people of this community.

A removal of the business is contemplated for next January, and the building formerly occupied by Gillespie & Co., south of L. P. Knoedler's establishment, has been secured for that purpose.

Mr. Dunbar was born in Mississippi in 1850, and came to Augusta in his youth.  He has been identified with the best interests of Augusta, and is a true Southern gentleman in every respect.
