Maurice Hook
Mr. Hook was born in Bracken County, near Augusta, in 1869, and was educated in the public schools. He remained on a farm until he was twenty years of age. He served a deputy sheriff for three years. In 1896 he was elected Sheriff of Bracken County. Mr. Hook is a candidate for re-election with no opponent yet in the field. His term of office was a credit to him, and even with the opposition, his past record would give him the office if he desired to have it. He is a member of the order of Red Men.
