Lotha Smith
Lotha Smith was born in Brown County. Ohio, October 31, 1859, and attended the public schools of that county. He came to Augusta April 9, 1889, and opened his present place of business. He carries a fine line of wines and whiskies, which he sells at the following prices: Four-year-old whiskey, $2 per gallon; six year old whiskey, $2.50 per gallon; eight-year-old rye and bourbon, $3 per gallon; by the quart, 50¢, 60¢, 75¢, and $1.00. He handles the finest whiskies that can be purchased, and strictly pure, never using any rectified goods.
In addition to this business, Mr. Smith carries a line of cigars and tobacco. He is also an extensive wholesale and retail dealer in ice. He is a liberal citizen, is full of energy, and is always interested in the development of Augusta.
