The substantial business of Mr. J. O. Stroube has been in existence since 1880, Mr. Stroube having at that time purchased the interest of J. Q. Hook, in the firm of Coburn and Hook. A few years later he purchased the interest of Mr. Coburn, and since that time has conducted the business The house carries a complete line of groceries, hardware and agricultural implements, and has had a fine patronage for many years. Mr. Stroube was born near Augusta in 1834, spending his early life on a farm and moving to Augusta in 1880. He is an honest, honorable gentleman, and has the conscience of his fellow men. His reputation to business is without a blemish in and honest dealing. Mr. Stroube is a member of but one organization, the Masonic Order.
