Some time since I received a copy of your proposals “for publishing by subscription a history of the state of war in the Western Country” and deeming it a work which will be interesting to the citizens of the western country I have made some exertions to procure subscribers and have succeed so in procuring the following viz. John Payne, John Chiles, W.T. Taliaferro, Robert Smith, Franci Wells, Devall Payne, Richard Rutter, George W. Macky, Arthur Thome, William Buchner, Elias Horo, James Donovan, Auguster Gross, Coleman Jenkins, Jesse Southerland, N. Beasley, Wm. Tomlinson, & George Donophan who wish their copies full bound should the work contain a faithful detail of facts many more can be disposed of at this place say 50 copies, for those who have subscribed after delivering the copies to me you may draw upon me for the amt. upon sight – should you think proper to send on the number of copies mentioned – the [illeg] shall be sold and you advised of the sale immediately –
