Yungbluts

Dr. J. R. Yungblut, head of the family, was born in Ohio in 1835.  For many years he was a successful druggist in Newport, but is now retired. Charles W. Yungblut was born in Newport, in 1868; graduated in the public schools; graduated at the Cincinnati Law School in 1890, and he began practice.  He was elected city attorney of Dayton in 1893, and reelected in 1897 by a council equally divided politically, and with the casting vote on the other side - a high testimony to the young lawyer's ability and faithfulness.  

The GAR (a short history of the organization is at this site) held it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898.  All of the Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared for the occasion.
