Frank L. Wharton
May 29, 1859, Frank L. Wharton was born in Newport. The family came to Dayton when he was nine years old. He is an iron moulder by trade, and served as foreman until about six years ago. He is now custodian of the Perin Building, Cincinnati. In 1884 he married Miss Eugenie Miles, of Bellevue, and two boys now sit at their table. Mr. Wharton served two years as assessor. In 1897 he was elected to the city council for the Fourth ward.
The GAR (a short history of the organization is at this site) held it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898. All of the Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared for the occasion.
