Charles Barnes
Charles Barnes was born in Louisville, but the family moved from that city while he was still an infant. All his business life has been spent in Dayton, where he has been a resident for near half a century. He has occupied the homestead on Sixth avenue for twenty-five years. All his life has been in machinery manufacture, and he is the head of the Charles Barnes Co., which does a large business in general machinery. He has made considerable investments in Dayton real estate, making valuable improvements.
The GAR (a short history of the organization is at this site) held it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898. All of the Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared for the occasion.
