Louis Meyer
The fine residence of Mr. Louis Meyer, shown herewith, is a prominent object in the view up Vine street. The house, as originally constructed, was well built, and Mr. Meyer has added to it without stint, until he has a house complete and in the best style from basement to attic. There are few houses as handsome, and none more comfortable. One of our finest building sites in the city is the lot west of the residence shown here. The lot is school property, and on it will be built Dayton's next schoolhouse.
The GAR (a short history of the organization is at this site) held it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898. All of the Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared for the occasion.
