Mrs. Elizabeth Tresise
The Tresise residence, on Terrace avenue above the railroad, is delightfully situated on the hillside - almost covered by the native trees, yet affording a wide view of the country toward the river and beyond. It combines the conveniences of the city with the quiet and healthfulness of a country residence. Here live Mrs. Elizabeth Tresise and two daughters - one, Miss Fannie Tresise, a favorite teacher in the public schools. The family has long stood among the first in Dayton,. Many friends from beyond the city limits can attest to the hospitality of this charming Dayton home. The upper stretch of Terrace avenue, above the railway, is one of the pleasantest places to be found among the beautiful Kentucky hills. The winding roadway through the luxuriant summer foliage gives a succession of delightful scenes as the approach to the top of the hill is made. There are several fine residences on this hillside.
The GAR (a short history of the organization is at this site) held it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898. All of the Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared for the occasion.
