The Young Lady Minstrel Club of Dayton gave at Odd Fellows Hall, last spring, a very successful entertainment in aid of funds of the Citizens' Committee for the Encampment. Among the features was the Roman Drill Corps, which is shown in the photo above. The entertainment proved to be very popular and the young ladies have had numerous invitations to go to neighboring cities.

The GAR (a short history of the organization is at this site) held it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898. All of the Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared for the occasion.
