Joseph M. Bohn was born in Cincinnati in 1862. He attended the public school; began life as a cash boy; then went to wholesale clothing house, where he became department superintendent. He came to Dayton in 1890, and set up a general furnishing store. Three years ago Mr. Bohn invented the Bohn slideback suspender, obtaining a patent and set up a factory to make the goods; but this demanded time, and Mr. Bohn sold the patent and plant. He gives undivided attention to the store, 722 Sixth avenue, shown on this page.
Until last year, Mr. Bohn had never been a candidate for public office. Then he was elected to council from the Second ward, and is giving the city good service. |
