Dayton Bowling and Fishing Club

  The Dayton Bowling and Fishing Club had the first regulation alleys in Campbell county - the founders of the sport in this vicinity.  They reconstructed the old alleys at Clark's Grove.  The officers are: John S. Heeg, Sr., President; B. H. Vocke, Vice-President and Captain; Wm. Gruenberger, Secretary; Chas. Huber, Treasurer; Wm. Clett, Commissary; Eugene Winston, Sergeant-at-Arms.  The club has its annual camping out, at some inviting place up the river - this year near Ross.  Only the fish suffer at these times.    

The GAR (a short history of the organization is at this site) held it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898.  All of the Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared for the occasion.
