Central School to Open
Children living within the bounds of the Central district of Ft. Thomas are anxiously looking forward to Jan. 26, when the doors of this modern building on Highland-av. near Ft. Thomas-av will be thrown open to them and where they will begin their next semester's work. The school cost $140,000.
The new school, which will be known as the Central School of Ft. Thomas, is of steel and concrete construction and is modern in every respect. It is said to be the finest school building of its kind in Kentucky.
Miss Ruth Moyer will be principal of the school, which will comprise the first to sixth grades. Pupils of the first to third grades, now housed in the Highland High School will be transferred to the new school. Pupils of the fourth to the sixth grades living in the central school district and now attending Robert. B. Johnson and Samuel Woodfill Schools also will attend the new school.
Any child living within the district and who will be six years old before next April 26 may enroll at the new school, D. W. Bridges, Superintendent, announced. the child, however, must be registered within two weeks after the school is opened, he said.
A general reception, which will be open to the public so that they may inspect the new edifice will be held at a later date, it was said.
