Ahrens Fire Truck
Chief Ed Miles proudly displays Newport's newest piece of fire-fighting equipment, a 1948 Ahrens Fox F-C Special. The pumper cost $14,000 and was built by the Ahren Fox Fire Engine Corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was delivered on December 13, 1848 and remained in service into the 1970's.
We took our photo and the paragraph above from the Facebook page of Old Photos of Newport, which acknowledged the photo being from the October/November Issue of Fire Station Digest Magazine, as reproduced in a post by Steve Hagy, on the Ahrens Fox and Queen City Pumper made in Cincinnati Ohio Facebook page.
