Another Negro Stealer
Officer Bligh, while descending from Carrrollton the day before yesterday was advised of the presence of a Negro named Elijah Anderson on board. He proceeded forewith to arrest him, which he accomplished after a very severe struggle. The negro boasted of having done a great deal of work for the Abolitionists and having been paid well in gold. He resides in Lawrenceburg and has a wife who claims for her residence, Cleveland. On his person was found a quantity of Canadian and Detroit money.
Anderson is charged with stealing Mr. Giltner's negroes from Hunter's Bottom, and was taken to Carroll county for trial.
