Graded School Question Carries
Monday the grade school question was submitted to the white voters of the district, and the result was a vote in favor of it being cast. The vote stood 79 for and 68 against. This means Ghent is to have an 8 month school term of school, in place of 5 as heretofore.
We hope to see good conscientious teachers selected - ones who have genuine interest in their work, and let our people have the best that they are taxed for. The following gentlemen were elected at the election for school trustees and they are amongst the best of our citizens for that work: H. M. Froman, T. M. Scott, John C. Sanders, C. H. O'Neal, L. E. McCann.
Some good men were opposed to the tax, but the majority rules.
