Larkin Sanders
What a strange sort of man is Larkin Sanders, Esq. At the last term of the circuit court he was fined $190 for shooting one Frank Thompson, under severe provocation. He seems to have made little or no effort to procure a remission from the Governor, and no other attempt whatever to pay the fine. The result was that the sheriff in accordance with law had to incarcerate him. This was done on Friday night and he remains in duress vile. Being a man of much intelligence and great experience in legal and business affairs, he exhibits a weakness in this matter which is as sad as it is incomprehensible.
