The doorway at the extreme left of this image is the entrance to an enclosed stairway up to the second floor, and you would cross through second floor of the corner building to get to Richland Theatre, which was originally on the second floor of the second building from the corner.   The marquee for the theatre is visible in this card.   The theatre moved to the ground floor and the stairway remained to access second-story businesses in the corner building.
