Sanders Temperance Voting
The first time local option was voted in Sanders Precinct, there were only two votes cast for it; that is to say, all the votes were for whiskey except two - surely a very small beginning, but “large streams from little fountains flow.” In 1883 the question was next voted on and the local option carried by a small majority of 29 votes. In August, 1885 another vote was taken, and local option was continued by a majority of 38 votes. At the election held this month local option was again triumphant, and by a majority of 100.
