An Old Pioneer – Once a School Teacher – An Upright Old Gentleman
Benjamin Griffin was born in Fayette county, Kentucky, October 3, 1818, the son of Levi and Mary Griffin, of old Virginia stock. He has led an industrious, useful life. Mr. Griffin was married to Sydney J. Hoggins in 1840, had several children, and spent his active life on a farm in Gallatin county. He is a man of recognized honor, upright in character, a promising member of the M. E. Church, a lifelong Abolitionist, and in politics a Republican.
