County Clerk – A Native of Old Gallatin, A Worthy, Broad-Minded Young Man Mr. Spencer was born near Napoleon in this county in 1876. He is a matter-of-fact sort of man, plain, unpretentious, but full of business, wide-awake and capable. He got his education largely at the public schools and his muscles hardened at the plow handle. He was never known to shirk a duty or evade a responsibility. He is clean, honest, and industrious and when the people elected him as county clerk they got the right man for the place, fair and obliging, competent and ready to perform any duty in a business-like and orderly manner. Hs is a young man of promise and the future has bright things in store for him.
