County Sheriff, a Young Man of Energy and Push. An Honest Farmer William N. Winn is the son of T. J. Winn, and was born at Craig’s Creek, Gallatin county, in 1866. He was raised on his father’s farm, where he worked during summer and attended the district schools in winter. He always possessed a large degree of energy, was a hard worker and had a wide knowledge of facts, conditions, and surroundings, possessed the respect of his people even from boyhood, and when he submitted his name for sheriff, the people nominated him and elected him by handsome majorities. He succeeds his brother, E. E. Winn, who was also an able, efficient officer.
