The News from Glencoe, 1875
The Howard Tobacco Warehouse has received from this and Owen County some 90,000 to 100,000 pounds of tobacco, the price of the same ranges from $8 to $25 per hundred. The present crop will not realize more than one-fourth of what was expected.
W. H. Jones has sold his property to Mr. Shelton of Owenton, who contemplates starting another drug store here.
Out high school is flourishing. Much credit is due to P. H. Duncan, the professor.
We cannot forebear speaking of our three young doctors, D. O. Taylor, J. H. Williams, and Robert Thomas. They are all fine young men of high repute and have our best wishes for their success.
