The Fannie Dugan

The Fannie Dugan was a side-wheeler built and owned by Capt. John McAllister.  After his death in November of 1872, his widow, Catherine Bagby McAllister operated the Fannie Dugan with their son, Robert B. McAllister as clerk.  Catherine McAllister's brothers, Robert Bagby, Willis Scott Bagby, and James Thompson Bagby (who was Captain of the Fannie Dugan for a while).  Catherine Bagby McAllister owned and operated the Fannie Dugan until 1876 when she consolidated her steamboat interests with the Bay Brothers, forming the Portsmouth and Pomeroy Packet Company.
