Background
Jefferson Webb and his wife Lula Belle Hill Webb owned the Argone Hotel across the street form the tennis court. Jefferson built the tennis court for his son Everett "Bunny" Webb who was a tennis buff. In later years Everett "Bunny" Webb owned and operated Bunny's Pool Hall. He also owned and operated the Webb gas company. Everett and his son James Everett were killed in a 1945 propane explosion at their new home. After Jeff's death his second wife Gaynell Gross Webb operated the Webb gas company until her murder in 1962 when she was shot by a disgruntled employee/boyfriend
