Local Option

For six weeks, the W. C. T. U. [Women's Christian Temperance Union] has been fighting for local option at Williamstown. The fight was made in the county. Williamstown went 114 majority local option [ie. they voted dry] and Mason too. Women went wild last night, boys and girls were shouting, and all the bells in town were ringing. The W. C. T. U. women marched up the street in body, each waving a flag. There was an all day prayer meeting, which changed leaders every hour. At the close of the polls, when the news reached the Methodist Church, where the women were, the manifestations of joy were beyond description, the prayer meeting immediately turning into a praise meeting.
