The Broadway Theeater began as the Nowland Opera House in 1893. In 1912 tha nmae was canged to the Hippodrome Theater, which had vaudville shows and motion picture prsentatuions. On January 14, 1917, The Hippodrome theater brned down. It was rebuilt the same year. In 1934, the theater was leased out to some local businessmen who completel remodeled it.

 

In 1928, L. B.. Watson and his associates purchased the Hippodrome Theater. In 1930, it underwent extensive remodeling. At the time a contest was held to find a suitable name for the remodeled dtheater. The winni ng entry was Broadway.

The Broadway Theater remained open until the early 1950's. The buildingd has been demolished, and now serves as a parking lot.
