They're Putting You On

For years Lewisburg has wanted a branch of the fire department for better protection of that portion of the City of Covington.  Mayor Phillips has been fighting to get a firehouse there, and it now looks as if the Commissioners have been converted.

As any rate, they have all agreed to the purchase of an auto chemical wagon to be used ultimately in Lewisburg.  The Mayor and commissioners expect to go site-hunting shortly and will try to find a suitable lot upon which to erect a firehouse.

Recently some of his Lewisburg friends rigged up in comical costume and got up a caricature picture, which they sent to the Mayor as a reminder that they still wanted for protection for Lewisburg.  The above picture is the one specially made for the occasion.
