Oelsner's
Russell [Oelsner] was the mayor of Lookout Heights, but the tavern was owned by the three Oelsner brothers: Richard, Russell and my dad, Charles
Russell, as mayor, had to give a deposition to Sen. Estes Kefauver's 1950-51 Crime Commission when they were investigating gambling at the Lookout House across the street from Oelsner's. They had wisely listed my father as the owner of the Tavern's slot machines, to keep the Russell out of it.
Thanks again for the memories at your web site. As resturant owners, my family was friendly with all the others up and down the Dixie, and I ate at the other places often.
