Confederate Banker Dies

Maysville, Ky., July 24.- Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning for Sandford Mitchell, 79 year old Confeerateveteran and one of the oldest and best known bankers of the State, who died Sunday at his home at Mayslick, this county.

Durng the War Between the States Mr. Mtchellwas a member of Company H, Ninth Kentucky Regiment, under Gen. John C. Breckenridge and Gen. John H. Morgan, and was a member of the last escort of President Jefferson Davis of the Confederacy. He was president of the Bank of Mayslick.
