Saved From Lynchers
Cincinnati, Nov. 19—After being pursued by mobs in Kentucky, two men, charged with murder, were lodged in jail at Covington, Ky., today. They are Alvin Burgees of Flemingsburg, and George Bents of Mays Lick. They had been taken to the Brookville jail, and when it was learned that mobs from the home counties of the prisoners were coming, the sheriff, by detour routes, reached Covington. Burgess is charged with killing Walter Peck, aged 16 years, last Sunday, while the latter was en route to church, and Bents is charged with killing Robert Osley at Mays Lick.
