Evansville, Ind., Dec. 14. - Dr. James L. Massie was arrested Saturday in Warrick county for the murder of J. L. Kenakee of Owenton, Ky., Oct. 11.  Both men were prominent in Owen county.  Kenakee, it is claimed, circulated a report that Dr. Massie was intimate with his eighteen-year-old niece.  The later explained that he was treating the girl in a professional manner, and asked for a retraction.  It was refused, and Massie served notice that he would kill Kenakee the next time he met him.  They met on the street and Massie, who carried a Winchester, drew a bead on the slanderer, and again demanded an apology.  "Never" cried Kenakee, "Shoot, you scoundrel." The next instant a bullet pierced his heart.  Massie admits the murder.
