How New Liberty Christian Got It's Bell

Sometime, probably after the building of the [New Liberty Christian] church in 1889, Uncle Thomas Gayle, a very honorable old gentleman but not especially known for his religion, donated a bell to the Christian Church as he had “gotten dam tired of hearing those Baptists brag about their having a bell and the Christian having none.”
