Gone With The Whiskey
Three Hundred Kentuckians Hunt for a Missing Negro Messenger
Butler, Ky., Feb. 4 - Isaac Walker, colored, about 75 years of age, was sent after a gallon of whiskey at the distillery of O. W. Cowles, three miles south of this place, Saturday evening, about 4 o'clock, and has not returned. About 30 people divided into parties, have been looking for him, but can find no trace of him.
He frequently goes after whiskey, and has always returned promptly. He reached the distillery all right, and was last seen coming back about two miles from town. He was perfectly sober and seldom drank. It is thought he has met with foul play.
