The hall at Knoxville erected by a joint stock company, and in which the Odd Fellows, Masons, Grangers, and Good Templars held their regular meetings, was destroyed by fire on Thursday night last. Loss $3,000; no insurance.
The bulding of a turnpike from Falmouth to Foster is being earnestly discussed by the people of the two places.
The Public Library at Butler contains sixty volumes. The Astor Library was commenced with a common school dictionary.
