RATS IN WILLIAMSTOWN
Grant County News
October 9, 1936

“Obviously, there has been an influx of rats in Williamstown this summer. One has but to sit quietly at a window for a few minutes and see them set about their work to destroy whatever they happen to run across. What has caused so many rats, we are unable to say. But, in order to combat the voracious pest, care must be taken in getting rid of food and garbage. It takes a little longer, and it is a little more trouble to destroy garbage than it does to dump it over the back porch, but it would certainly be better for your neighbor, if not for yourself. Food that cannot be used should be buried or burned instead of thrown out a window or porch. Think about it!” See less
