Sat Up Two Nights
Postmaster Had Busy Time With a Package Sent to His Office
Bedford, Ky., Sept. 13 - Sixteen thousand dollars in gold came to Mt. Pleasant, a country postoffice in this county, a few days ago. It was intended for a bank in Mt. Pleasant, Tenn. No one knew about it until the postmaster of that place obtained a receipt showing the money had reached its destination. Not until then did the postmaster get any rest. He sat up two nights to protect the gold while waiting on instructions from Washington.
