Florence Hotel On Main. That's Girard on the left. |
The Florence Hotel only had 9 rooms, one of which was a tavern and a couple others were the owners' living quarters, and three fireplaces. It's on the corner on Main and Girard. Don't confuse it with the Southern Hotel. That hotel sat directly across the street on the corner of Main and Youell and it probably had 21 rooms and 7 fireplaces. They were the first stage coach
stop out of Covington before the railroad came thru. Thanks to Billy Tackett for the update. right, From a Facebook post by Boone Co Library Local History |
