Florence Baptist Church
On the back of this one, Lloyd's written “Baptist Church opposite
Christian Church in Florence (Stringtown) Ky.  In this yard, under
the locust trees, were laid the wounded of the raiding and the raiders [from  a
Civil War battle in Florence](pdf).”

“Interior of the Gunpowder Church on the
Island.  Pews have been replaced with 'modern.'”

Gunpowder Church
“Built in front of the old church which was torn down”
The Preacher at the Gunpowder Church for 50 years was the Rev. John
Underhill, thought to be the person upon whom Lloyd based the title
character of his novel Warwick of the Knobs.

A map of where it was located.
