St. Walburg advertises for students, 1906.
Mother of God School was directly across the street from Mother of God Church The story about the dedication,1906 “The school was built as Mother of God Elementary and remained so until 1962 when it closed. Also housed Covington Catholic from 1925-1955, Covington Latin School for one year in the 1920s, Villa Madonna College (1957-1967) and Good Counsel School for the disabled (1962-1971). The building had a beautiful auditorium, marble stairways and stained glass windows. A sad loss when it was torn down in the 1970s.” Dave Schroeder, writing on Facebook |
